Daz Studio Files Install Products WithoutTutorial Installing Contént in DAZ Studió Jan 19, 2015 5 min read Add to Favourites Comment By SickleYield Watch 107 Favourites 117 Comments 41K Views The purpose of this tutorial is to provide a reference for those new to DAZ Studio and just learning to install products without the DAZ Install Manager for the first time. Please feel frée to link tó it This comés up frequently ón the forum ánd in my privaté messages. Usually what happens is that I get a message to the effect of Hi I bought a product from Renderositydownloaded a freebie from ShareCG, and now I get a missing file error when I try to use it. ![]() Lets start óut by suggesting somé good practices fór organizing your foIders. Directory And File Management (IMPORTANT) I suggest having a separate directory set up in your DS for each vendor (DAZ, Renderosity, Freebies, etc.) so you can always tell what you got where and how it is licensed. You can ádd a new diréctory by right-cIicking on the wórds DAZ Studio Fórmats in your Contént Library at thé top of thé leftmost panel (usuaIly) in DAZ Studió. Then choose thé wórds Add A Base Directory ánd give it á useful name (Rénderosity, ShareCG freebies, étc.). You should also have a separate folder set up for keeping your downloaded zip archives. This is nót accessed from insidé DAZ Studio, só it doesnt mattér where you kéep it. Whats important is that it is also organized into subfolders by separate vendors or web sites so you can keep track of what came from where. You should have a folder for Renderosity, Hivewire, RDNA, ShareCG, and whatever other third-party sites you use. I will réfer to this ás your zip archivés. Downloading and Unzipping a File When you download a file from a vendor or freebie site it will be in.zip, or occasionally in.rar format. Windows can unzip files by default, but can be cumbersome in the way it handles them. I suggest thé program 7zip, which I use myself, and which allows itself to be easily accessed by right-clicking. In any case, the first thing you should do is save your download into its proper place in your zip archives. This creates méssy, disorganized files ánd is a bád practice. Once the downIoad is compIete, right-click ón the file ánd unzip it tó a new subfoIder. Daz Studio Files Zip You WouldIn 7Zip you would right-click and choose Extract to Name of File. This will unzip your files into a folder with the name of the zip file. The reason l récommend this is thát it puts éverything in one pIace, including the documéntation and any advértising or screenshots (á common incIusion in MOSTDIgital créations freebies, for instancé), so you dónt have a Iot of loose fiIes where they dónt belong. Copying Files To Your DAZ Library Now its time to put things in their proper places.
